Discovering the Best of Tamarindo: From Surfing to Seafood and Everything in Between

Tamarindo is located on the northwest coast of Costa Rica, in the province of Guanacaste. It is about an hour’s drive from the Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia. The town is situated along the coast, with easy access to beaches, national parks, and other attractions in the surrounding area.

Pangas Beach Club: A beachfront restaurant and bar serving fresh seafood and tropical cocktails.

Dragonfly Bar & Grill: A casual eatery serving American and Costa Rican cuisine, located in the heart of Tamarindo.

La Palapa: This beachfront restaurant has  a fantastic seafood platter that we love sharing with friends. After dinner there is often a fire show that is pretty incredible.

Surfing: Tamarindo is a world-renowned surfing destination, with many surf schools and board rental shops.

Las Baulas National Marine Park: A protected area known for its nesting sea turtles, located just south of Tamarindo.

Rincon de la Vieja National Park: A national park with hiking trails, waterfalls, and hot springs, located about an hour from Tamarindo.

Casado: A popular lunch dish consisting of rice, beans, meat or fish, and plantains.
